Resident Evil 6 Hype

Who doesn't love a good game? Easy answer, no one. And this game series should be no different. The Resident Evil series is coming upon their 6th numbered game, Resident Evil 6.

I am a huge Resident Evil fan and lately, everyone has missed their zombies in the games including me, so for this one, Capcom has brought them back in full force. Don't get me wrong, RE4 and 5 were fun and enjoyable but they were missing what the first three games had; utmost horror and survival against the dead. Regardless, I am thankful; the last two games, 4 and 5, have strayed too far from the path and became third person, run and gun games. But now, Capcom is back in action. Resident Evil 6 not only returns with zombies and the survival horror that we love. But it also kicks us with all of our characters we want; Leon, Chris, Sherry Birken(The little girl form Resident Evil 2), Ada, and even a new character, Jake Muller. The game takes place a year from now, 2013. Umbrella is still somehow being seen with infection showing everywhere in the world. It's up to Leon and Chris, in separate parts of the world, to figure out how to stop this new virus. The virus is called the C-Virus, similar to the T-Virus, it makes zombies, and they don't mess around. The game has a mixture of everything shown in the series so far. For Leon's sections, you have straight up zombies and survival horror; for Chris' sections, it's more action and fast paced gun battles. Jake's sections have a healthy mixture of both, making his gameplay severely unique.

Overall gameplay is greatly different from Resident Evil 4 and 5, we have more mobility, more animations from the characters, and even full melee combat. A main aspect missing was attacking without a gun, and now it's solved. There is a dedicated open combat aspect that gives more options for killing zombies. This also lets us save more ammo, and speaking of ammo, less can be found now, giving you the sense of conservation for bullets, something that was missing for a time.

Jake is something to talk about, if you played RE5 you know that  Wesker was the main villain and one that's been around since the first game back in 1996. And in Resident Evil 5 he was killed. Now, where does Jake fit into this? Well, Jake is Wesker's son. Appalling and as cool as that sounds, no, he isn't a bad guy. But that doesn't mean he can't hold his own. He is a mercenary and can fight like no one else. He is extremely fast and deadly; and, let's not forget, he's kind oarrogant. He likes to make jokes of the situation at hand and flirts with Sherry, which is kind of funny.
The game takes place over the world, the US, Hong Kong, and Europe. Also, health recovery has been revamped. When you collect herbs, they are turned into tablets that you pop like a Tic-Tac. Instant health, now with Peppermint Flavor!

Overall, Resident Evil 6 is a huge thing to be excited about, we get all we want from the series and maybe it'll save Capcom from becoming Cashcom (See what I did there?). The game looks gorgeous and fun. If you want to try it yourself, download the demo, it's on both PSN and Xbox market. Give it a try, I highly recommend it if you like a good game. Resident Evil 6 hits shelves on October 2. Until then keep on gaming everyone, have a great day. All names, rights and Resident Evil releated symbols owned by Capcom.
