The Valley Tribune: Dead Space 3 Hype

Who likes horror? Many, many a people do. We can't say why. The suspense? The feeling of terror? Who knows. But, everyone likes horror movies. So why not like Video Game horror? One series that appeals to this is Dead Space. What is Dead Space?

Dead Space is a survival horror game that takes you through a dangerous journey. In SPACE. You are Issac, an engineer on a mission to repair the USG Ishimura, a mining ship for opening entire planets. Sadly, the ship is overrun with killer aliens hoping to eat Issac's face. Armed with only a plasma cutter, Issac must face the music, and the ship's once living inhabitants.

Ishimura is huge, giving us about 4 hours of just exploring it. There are some times in the story that you are forced to walk on the outside of the ship, in SPACE. And when you do, you can hear nothing but Issac's breathing. It's unnerving and scary because you can't hear if something is lurking behind you. The key to taking down Necromorphs is dismemberment. Taking out the arms and legs is the only way to be rid of them. And, to be honest, the Necromorphs are terrifying. Mutilated shells of what was once human.

So this game sounds amazing and it plays so good. Why not a sequel?

Dead Space 2 hit shelves in 2011. Selling extremely well and continuing the story of Issac Clarke. Issac, after the event of Dead Space, was picked up by an alliance cruiser, half insane. He's taken aboard one of Jupiter's moons, and put into a mental hospital. After six months, the necromorphs are back, and this time, Issac is more prepared than ever. Though garbed in over his hospital uniform, Issac is the most coherent patients. running until he can make a weapon. His trusty plasma cutter raised, Issac puts on his helmet ready to dismember to victory.

For this game, Issac's abilities are better than ever. He can hack and control certain security centers for assistance. His melee moves are more brutal and quick. And, he's better looking in his suit, hospital food will do that to you.

DS 2 really improved from the first game. The scares were better and the combat was more fierce. The graphics were improved to a whole new level. And the story, AMAZING

Now, Dead Space 3 is on the horizon. Not a whole lot is known, but the story is this. Issac has found the original marker, the one that started the entire necromorph outbreak. And he's ready to destroy it. Where it's found is on Tau Volantis, a frozen planet that looks like Hoth from Star Wars. What we do know is that Dead Space 3 will have drop in and out multi-player, a very good feature. The combat has been given a good overall for the new enemies. Necromorphs are smart enough to use guns, so we've been given a cover system and a roll button. Graphics are even better thanks to the improved Visceral Engine, heck, even snow now can stick to you and stay there until a temperature change happens. AI and scares are upped to a whole new level. Weapons are now able to be used as a melee weapon. By this, I mean you can swing your pulse rifle around and beat enemies with it's stock.

So, Dead Space 3. BUY IT. Please, it's going to be amazing and fun. Stay Scared and keep on Gaming
