Gang Violence

In more heavily populated areas gang violence is a strong topic weighing heavily on some people's minds. Most of us are aware of the Ferguson riots, and what was involved with that, but recent reports show that there may be more dangerous issues underlying the causes for the riot. After the young man in Ferguson was shot and killed by an officer, it was said that he was once a member of a gang or belonged to a gang family. Local cops were confused as to why so many people got involved in the chaos, and the local police sat down and had a long meeting. After adding up evidence and thinking everything out, they came to a conclusion that a gang must be relevant to all of the destruction and violence. Gangs are everywhere, they are usually fairly organized, and have big connections with firearms and narcotics. Ferguson police fear that the violence could be much more intricate and on a much larger scale. Some people argue that all gang members should be arrested to put a stop to it all, but because of our first amendment rights, gangs not causing any trouble can meet and be in public without being arrested or criticized. In cities like Chicago and Los Angeles gangs are growing and getting more violent. And senseless crimes are being committed. Hopefully one day all this will die down, until then watch for any signs of gang activity in your neighborhood and keep yourself safe. It is not likely that gangs will just cease to exist, but we can only hope that the destruction is limited, and that people can stay alive and not fight over skin color. Take action, and if you spot any suspicious gang related business, do not get involved and report it if you feel the need to.
