Prom Trends

It’s that time of the year again. The time when dress shops worldwide are thriving with girls and everyone is rushing to call dibs on a dress. It’s prom season. Styles change from year to year and fads go away and resurface later. So what styles are trending right now?

So far, the most popular style I’ve seen this year is floral prints. Lots of big name brands such as Sherri hill and Jovani have put out a variety of floral print dresses, ranging from two pieces to full-length, ball gown styles. In past years, similar trends have been popular such as the animal print phase. I specifically remember this year because it was my sister’s senior prom and almost every girl was seen wearing one. My sister was sporting a bright, fluorescent peacock patterned dress.

Another trend that has become very prominent this year, (and some of last year) is the famous two piece dress. This is actually my favorite style so far and just so happens to be the style dress I will be wearing for prom. The bottom piece is most commonly a tight-fitted, mermaid style bottom. Some are high waisted and others are mid length. A majority of the top pieces that I have seen are also tight fitting and are close to the neck.

The last style that I've seen the most this year is the long sleeved, mesh material dresses. Most can be found with jewels embellished all over the dress.

What is beauty? According to google the definition of beauty is a combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight. Some may say beauty is looking pretty, wearing makeup, and wearing nice clothes. This is not what beauty is. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty is more than an outward appearance. Inner beauty is the most important thing in life. Inner beauty is having respect for yourself, have a loving heart and feeling confident about yourself. If you don't respect yourself or care for others then you will never know what true beauty is. Be confident about yourself and you will find true beauty. The bible says we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Jesus made us in his image and he knows how beautiful we truly are. No matter what others say you are beautiful.

Baseball

Now that Football has came to an end baseball players are starting to warm up for their upcoming season.
 Our Spring Valley baseball players have already been putting in work in the weight room by lifting weights, running on the track, and several other activities.

The baseball team has been gathering every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30 at the weight room and has been practicing for an hour.
The tryouts for the baseball team are only 3 weeks away and players are trying very hard to get into shape for the week-long tryouts.

Super bowl 50

Super Bowl 50 was one of the best ones in a long time but every year something entertaining happens, whether it is for the commercials, the football game or anything is supposed to be going on.

In this past one it was the Denver Broncos vs the Carolina Panthers. Although the Broncos came out on top, it was good game and will go down in history as the 50th Super Bowl.

Cam Newton and the Panthers were undefeated all season long. With that being said, a lot of you are going to be wondering where the Panthers have went wrong in the biggest game of the season. Well, a lot of isn't all on the Panthers, the Broncos gave them a defense to put up with and the highest scoring offense didn't take it all too well.

The Broncos had to make some major changes to be able to keep up with Panthers offensive strategy that was either going to be really good for them or really bad. It was truly a show of defense winning a ball game.

Some of the noticeable things the Broncos did to their defense were, that Wade Philips crafted the perfect game plan to slow this offense, the Broncos defensive line just dominated the game, and lastly, they adjusted to make a "no fly zone" for Cam Newton.

The final score came out to be 24-10 the Broncos. Cam Newton hasn't been taking it lightly either. With all of his hard work and dedication to get to where they were at the Super Bowl, and then to lose it all has really taken a toll on him. With him already having two national championships from college, he is predicted to have at least another chance to win it all.

The Life of Pablo

Kanye West's new album, The Life of Pablo, is considered to be, "one of the greatest albums of all time," according to pre-release hype. Kanye, who is proclaimed to be the greatest artist of the 21st century, has already released six studio albums with T.L.O.P being his seventh. The meaning behind the album is supposed to describe three sides of him. Pablo Escobar, who was a criminal, Pablo Picasso, who was an artist, and average Pablo, who is a worker.

Originally, the album was supposed to have 10 songs including a few that had already been released or leaked. But after a delay in its supposed release date he has added seven more songs to raise the track total to seventeen and further ensure the greatness of the album. this album is a must by if you enjoy quality music and if you are a fan of the hip-hop culture.

Delorean back into production

     Finally after being thirty-five years in the dark, DeLorean Motor is resurrecting the past with plans to build replicas of the famed car from the Back to the Future movies of the 1980's. The vehicles must meet current Clean Air Act standards for the model year in which they are produced. The new law allows the low volume vehicle manufacturer to meet the standards by installing an engine and emissions equipment produced by another automaker (GM, Ford, etc.) for a similar EPA-certified vehicle configuration or a crate engine that has been granted a California Air Resources Board (CARB) Executive Order. Finally, new life was gave Stephen Wayyne an idea for his recent purchase on DMC (Delorean Motor Company). 
     The Delorean that has not been in production for over 34 years. The company has remained in business by refurbishing the old DeLorean that were originally made (about 9,000 units were originally sold between 1981-1983) for car enthusiasts who have passion for these specialty stainless steel cars. Now thanks to Low Volume Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Act of 2015. Refurbished DeLoreans cost $45,000 to $55,000.  The replicas will cost closer to $100,000 when they go on sale in early 2017. According to Stephen Waynne, " The Majority of what we have here are customer-owned cars that are in for restoration." and "there is no reason to change of appearance of the car whatsoever ." Due to the supposed drug smuggling in the company, the company was forced into bankruptcy.
