A huge country music icon died on April 26, 2013 in Nashville, TN. George Jones was 81 and died after going to the hospital for a fever and an irregular blood pressure. As everyone always said 'he lives his live like his country songs'. Some called him "Possum" due to his nose and close-set eyes. And later named "No Show" for not showing up for his own concerts some days, due to drinking and drugs. He was known very well to all country music fans and country music singers. Tons of singers were torn today when they found out. Mr. Jones was an idol and will be missed very much through the whole music industry.

Xbox720 Reveal
photo from: wccftech.com
Microsoft will be revealing a “full lineup of blockbuster games” at E3 2013. I'm guessing that the company will debut a few games for the new console during its May 21 event, but Microsoft says that they will “continue the conversation and showcase” during E3.

Microsoft’s methods for the Xbox 720 reveal are rather interesting to say the least. The company will be revealing the new console a few weeks before E3 on the 21st of May, which I'm guessing will be enough time for the hype to build up before going into E3, making the headline story during the gaming expo Microsoft’s new console.

The new console from Microsoft will take on Sony’s recently-announced PlayStation 4
during this upcoming holiday season, and it’ll renew the stoking fire
that has been burning for the past several years over which console was
better: the PS3 or the Xbox 360, only this time around it’ll be the PS4
pitted up against the Xbox 720.photo from:http://www.neurope.eu/article/xbox-720-may-be-compatible-ipad

Pitch Perfect 2?
Photo from: www.movieweb.com
Pitch Perfect is on a constant loop at my house because my two little girls absolutely love the film. They can't stop watching it. So of course they were incredibly excited to hear that a Pitch Perfect 2 is coming. Universal Pictures has hired Kay Cannon (30 Rock, Pitch Perfect) to come back and write the sequel. They are looking to release the movie in 2015, and I imagine they'll bring back the majority of the original cast including Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson.
I'll admit that I enjoyed the film... the first time I watched, now I can't stand it. The movie pulled in over $113 million worldwide, and the audience for it is growing, so I imagine the sequel will do even better.

Blueberry and Nectarine Cobbler
Having a backyard cookout and need a good summer dessert? Try the Blueberry and Nectarine Cobbler!
for this youll need:
6 ripe nectarines, about 1 pound
2 cups fresh blueberries
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon instant tapioca
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, diced into small pieces, plus more for the pan
Cobbler Top:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon fine salt
6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, diced into small pieces
1 large egg
1/2 cup heavy cream
Serving suggestions: Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
Directions
Position a rack in the middle of the oven and preheat to 375 degrees F.
For the fruit: Halve the nectarines along their natural seam, but leave skins on. Cut each half into 3 wedges. Toss nectarines with blueberries, sugar, and tapioca and put into a buttered 9-inch round gratin or casserole dish. Dot the top of the fruit with the pieces of butter.
For the cobbler top: Whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Rub in 2 tablespoons of the butter with your fingertips until no visible pieces remain. Rub in the remaining 4 tablespoons butter just until it is in even, pea-size pieces. Whisk together the egg and cream and stir into the dry ingredients to make a shaggy, loose dough.
Spoon large spoonfuls of dough on top of the fruit in clumps. Bake until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center of the topping comes out clean, about 1 hour. Cool cobbler on a rack, about 20 minutes.
Serve warm or room temperature, with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.

Jackie Robinson Day.
Jackie Robinson was an American baseball player who became the first African American to play in the MLB. Robinson broke the baseball color line when the Brooklyn Dodgers started him at first base on April 15, 1947. As the first major league team to play a black man since the 1880s, the Dodgers ended racial segregation that had relegated black players to the Negro leagues for six decades.
Robinson had an exceptional baseball career. Over ten seasons, all but the first of which he played at second base, Robinson played in six World Series and contributed to the Dodgers' 1955 World Championship. He was selected for six consecutive All-Star Games. He won the MLB Rookie of the Year Award in 1947, and won the National League Most Valuable Player Award in 1949, the first black player so honored. Robinson was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962. In 1997, Major League Baseball universally retired his uniform number, 42, across all major league teams; he was the first pro athlete in any sport to be so honored. Initiated for the first time on April 15, 2004, Major League Baseball has adopted a new annual tradition, "Jackie Robinson Day," on which every player on every team wears #42 in honor of him.

Fun times for the softball team!
The softball team is reaching the end of their season and it is time for the exciting activities they do every year. The team will be holding a senior night to value the accomplishments of the senior palyers throughout their years in high school, and to honor them leaving the team. The night will begin about 5:00 by honoring the seniors along with their escorts (usually parents). A game against Winfiield will follow, and then a cookout will be available after the game with meats, side dishes and desserts. Another exciting thing the softball team does is a "Pink Out" game. A pink out game is where the team plays with respect for the people who have breast cancer. They always go all out for the pink out game by dressing in pink, having pink bases, and hanging pink ribbons everywhere. This game will be played 4/19/13 at 5:30 against Nitro. These are fun games to attend to see the girls having fun and honoring people. If you plan to attend wear pink! Both games will be held at our very own softball field. Come out and support!

Fighting For Who You Love
photo from:
http://projectillum.com/love-makes-the-world-go-round/
When you love someone then you will go to the end of the Earth for that person, even when times get tough and it seem so easy to give up. No matter how hard that person is to be with, or how much you fight; you have to look past the hard times, push through, show your love, and remember all the good times you've had. If you really do love someone then you will try to make things right and if it's meant to be things will work. The thing is, love is a two part deal. Too many people say "I love you too" when they don't really mean it. When two people really love each other they'll show it not just say it. No matter how many fights you have, "break-ups" you go through, or hurtful words you say when you're upset or angry, you can work things out if you truly love someone. Fight for who you love and don't give up. If it's meant to be that person will realize it and if it's not then you have to realize it and move on.

Spring Break Safety Tips
On the road… Buckle up! Also take turns behind the wheel, and whoever sits shotgun should stay awake to keep the driver company.
In hotels...Reserve a room that’s above the 1st floor but below the 6th floor. First floor rooms are easier to break into, and rooms above the sixth floor are sometimes too high for fire ladders to reach. If safes are provided, definitely use them for any valuables you may have. Make sure you dead lock your doors at night.
At the ATM…go the ATM in groups. Also try to go during daylight hours. When you approach the ATM, do a full 360 degree scan, looking completely around you to see if anyone is hanging out where they shouldn’t be.
While drinkin’…party smart. Be responsible. Pace yourself if you choose to drink. Drinking & driving is always a dangerous situation, so avoid this by planning for a sober friend to drive you home.
On the beach...Drinking + sun can equal a bad sunburn and an even worse hangover. Sun can maximize the effects of alcohol so keep this in mind if you party on the beach. Take it slow and stay hydrated by drinking lots of water. If you start feeling faint or light headed, get shade and water immediately. And don’t be a lobster...use sunscreen of at least SPF 15 and reapply often. Avoid sun exposure during the hottest hours of the sun’s rays and remember you can burn even when it’s cloudy.
In the hot tub…Drinking in the hot tub.
Alcohol can dialate blood vessels and lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. The effects of alcohol are felt sooner and stronger in a hot tub. It can lead to unconsciousness and drowning. Overall, just a bad idea.
Leaving the country... if you’re leaving the country you’ll need a passport. These are not quick and easy documents to attain, so file your application about 6 months before going on a trip abroad. Safety has a lot to do with what you pack when traveling abroad. Don’t bring flashy valuables and dress conservatively so you don’t stick out too much.
Gone cruisin... a cruise ship is a blast, but there are a whole different set of rules when you have a few thousand people aboard a boat. Stick with your friends, and watch your pockets when you get off the boat for stops. There are many cases of people being pick pocketed by island residents who prey on tourists.
